Google cache of Ask.com SERPs, with AdWords, still active 9 months later

I can't give a link due to competitive reasons, but the Google cache is still active for Ask.com SERPs from February 2006. Search results served up from http://66.102.9.104 today included a snippet for the #1 result which was oddly familiar.....it was an old AdWords creative long since retired. A click thru revealed a Google cached page of Ask.com SERPs, with a full compliment of (outdated) Sponsored Listings, landing pages still active. The Google snippet creator chose those juicy Sponsored Listings for highlighting.
That's free Sponsored Listings for the inactive AdWords account (impressions and click thrus), for the past 9 months?

Why is Google indexing ASK results anyway? That doesn't seem right.
