No Google Scrooooooge This Christmas?
Google has been notorious for rolling out wonderful new algorithms near the Christmas shopping season ever since the Florida Update in 2003. Matt just posted that he believes that type of activity is not too likely this year:
I know that webmasters are especially sensitive to quality/webspam/ranking changes in Q4 because of the holiday season. If we’ve got something that evaluates well and that we think will improve quality, we can’t just pause for 1/4th of the year, but if anything big launches I’ll try to be available to answer questions and help get a handle on any changes. (Right now I’m not expecting radical changes in webspam ranking, but I know better than to make a promise.)

At least they are ranking quality webspam. ;)
>wonderful new algorithms
It doesn't have to be a new algo, but, please, will something mildly interesting happen in the search engine world? Pretty please? Right now it's like watching cement set.
lol just shaking tree to
lol
just shaking tree to force more adwords revenue. If they even come close to missing street projections for Q4, the stock goes in the toilet. What serp holder licking his chops for seasonal pop won't convert when he gets booted?
Of course I think they've pretty much wrung the algo for all they can, backfire is possible.
Anyone still believe in the tooth fairy or "chinese walls" ?
I wonder....
I wonder if they'll send little treats in the mail again this year.
