Must be a good user

Must be a good user experience. ROTFLMFAO.

Oh Marissa...

Quote:
"The market favors open choice for search, and companies should compete for users based on the quality of their search services," said Marissa Mayer, the vice president for search products at Google, said in the report. "We don't think it's right for Microsoft to just set the default to MSN. We believe users should choose."

LOL

The Author was right though.. if Microsoft did this rather than Google.. this thread would be 200 posts long by now...

come to think of it...

they do hide behind "user experience" a lot

exponential Adwords price increases, Autolink, the list goes on...

And ....

and Microsoft would already be getting sued or hammered by anti-competition laws etc

Google (and ebay for that matter) are at some point going to get a dose of what MS got, and get, in court

Google's Preemptive Strike

For some reason Google felt they needed to strike first. I think the looming release of Microsoft IE7 browser has Google running scared.

I think this move might undermine public trust in the Google Toolbar because the move smacks of dodgy adware search bar practices to me rather than the kind of behavior one expects from a trusted vendor.

microsoft ..

can deinstall the toolbar in the next update saying it effected the way IE works... effectly wiping out the user base that installed and just left it installed ..

>>can deinstall the toolbar

>can deinstall the toolbar in the next update saying it effected the way IE works...

And Google just handed them the excuse. ;)

Will be sad if this "error"

Will be sad if this "error" isn't corrected.

If Microsoft really wanted to be nasty, they wouldn't touch the toolbar - just disable Javascript ads by default.
