Word comes in from Threadwatch member Andy that UK users are being redirected from .com to .co.uk google addresses.
This has always happened in Denmark as far as i can remember and i beleive elsewhere.
What does it mean for UK search marketers? Anyone in the UK wanna fill us in on the details...

Thats been happening on and off for me, at the present on the home page of the .com site it gives me a link asking if I would like to go to the .co.uk version!

they've been messing for a while... I posted on WMW (about 12 months ago) when G kept sending me to Brazil, prats, if I wanted to do that... It smacks of M$ and their insight into how the world should be

In Denmark they redirect to Google.dk :) - that is, after they got the from the bookstore that had it for years
And yes, it's cloaking (they are hiding google.com for us). Howeverm Google probably calls it GEO-targeting and that it also is. Anyway, call it what you like - I hate it :)

Ok so it's cookie based if you click on the Link go to google.com it sets it in the cookie and yoou go to google.com there after

Never had an issue with it here in the UK.
Firefox home is .co.uk
IE home is .com
No problems with either.
