DaveAtIFG Passed Away

Dave Bellis, also known as DaveAtIFG, recently passed away due to a heart attack. I got in the game late and never knew him real well, but from my limited contact with him he was a real class act. He surely will be missed by many.

Goddamn. I knew Dave a bit

Goddamn. I knew Dave a bit from WMW. One of the good guys

I didn't know Dave well but

I didn't know Dave well but my condolences go to his family and friends. Both on and off line.

I know Dave had been unwell

I know Dave had been unwell for a while but this still comes as a shock. In part due to his illness not many of us, me included, got the chance to meet him in the flesh and that is our loss. Dave was a stalwart behind the scenes of webmasterworld, helping that particular ship sail the "right" course in his straight up, no bullshit and honest way. Fiercly loyal he seemed to spend the bulk of his time helping others and if he wasn't doing that it seemed he was waiting, ready to step forward to help others.

I know he had been having some fun of late, what with that fancy new car and I think most importantly the chance to spend some time in the caribbean with someone I know he held very dear.

If my time comes I hope that I could be judged to be just half as honest, loyal, helpful and maybe just even 10% of the man that Dave Bellis was. There aren't many men left anymore, we could have done without losing Dave.

My condolences to his family and many friends at this sad loss.

Sad News

I never met Dave in person, but I always enjoyed him on WMW both in public and in private correspondence. He was definitely a classy guy, and the world will be poorer without him.

condolences to his family at

condolences to his family at this sad loss, I was lucky to meet Dave in Orlando at WMW pubcon 6, he was sat at the hotel bar and we had a conversation for quite a while, he was a very nice guy indeed

NFFC ...

I could not have put it any better, He will be missed

ohno...

how very sad indeed...

Dave was a great guy.

Dave was a great guy. I know everyone says that when ever someone dies, but with Dave it was true. He helped out thousands of people on the Internet and had much more patience than I could give. Other words that described him well are loyal, independent, and humble. One thing I really liked about Dave was that there was room for disagreement while staying civil.

We never did meet face to face, but we have had lots of electronic interaction over the years. I will miss him.

Dave was a corner stone

in helping people on the web. I remember him always being there rock solid out front and behind the scenes at WMW. Unfortunatly I never had the pleasure of meeting Dave and shake his hand for all the help and quality input over the years. He will truly be missed.

Dave was a straight up guy.

Dave was a straight up guy. One of the few I've known in my life to tell it to you like it is. Oddly enough, I was thinking of him the other day. He mentioned he wanted to drive to Dallas and meet for a beer and somehow it never happened.

I wish it did. I will miss him. He was very kind to me when I was going through a very, very difficult time in my life.

This is really a sad sad

This is really a sad sad news. My deepest condolences. Dave was the man at WMW. May he rest in peace.

I consider myself blessed ...

... to have met him once in person. A truly kind, great soul.

I think NFFC said everything that needed saying.

Always warm

It is nice to see old online friends here, NFFC, MIVOX saluting Dave.

My story is . . .
I took a year break from wmw and after my first new post Dave welcomed me back.

Later that year I had the pleasure of meeting him. I don't care who you are, ten seconds with the guy, and you felt like he was your best buddy.

RIP

(Another) Sad loss.

Thanks for notifying us seobook, and thanks to NFFC who probably better amplified the thoughts of many, most eloquently , I'm sure.

We'll hold a minute's silence later at 11:00am and celebrate the lives he touched - His reach was far and his words continue to live through those who give them life in their own endeavours.

Heartfelt thoughts to Dave's family and closest.
