Christine Churchill one of the founding members of SEMPO has resigned her seat on the board.

Founding and rearing SEMPO has, as many of you know, been a bumpy road. We've all learned a lot. It's been a good, if sometimes challenging learning experience. The SEMPO of today isn't the SEMPO I envisioned when I first started with it.

She goes on to say that the industry may require several marketing associations, a statement that looks very like the beginings of the long awaited admission that SEMPO has failed.
Threadwatch sends it's best wishes to Christine however, nobody would wish the personal trials and grief expressed in her last paragraph on anyone. Good luck Christine, and all the best.

LOL...not quite sure how you can infer that from Christine's departure. The organization is soon to be nominating new board members, so it makes perfect sense if you're going to step down anyway, that you do it now.

I imagine there are many new faces we'll see running for the board seats this time around which should hopefully breathe new life into SEMPO. (I have no inside knowledge, just my opinion!)

Christine is Mike's newsletter partner. They write it together, so it makes sense she'd publish it there.

and Mike has made it rather clear that he does not support SEMPO as it sits. I am sure if I were working w Mike I would find it a bit harder to support SEMPO...his statements / articles / writings are so much more eloquent than those coming from SEMPO

More importantly for SEMPO, several of its critics were big fans of Christine, including both myself and Mike Grehan among others. I know that I held back in several cases, because whilst I felt SEMPO to be an utter and complete sham, Christine was a true believer, and was doing all she could to make SEMPO live up to its stated ideals (despite resistance from within from those who'd only ever intended SEMPO to be an advertising vessel for themselves).

Now that Christine has left, so has the last pale shadow of credibility that SEMPO had, so far as I'm concerned.
