Other Advertising Markets to Consider...
A number of companies have recently pushed to expand their networks or offer new auction based ad models. Here are a few highlights...
- eBay - selling pay per lead phone leads via Skype on eBay.com. eBay also recently created eBay Express, which is similar to Google Base.
- Tivo - the digital video recorder is auctioning off product watch results for content for consumers actively looking for news and information about products
- Verizon - selling Yellow Pages ads using a bid model similar to AdWords.
- Spot Runner - makes it easy to buy cheap locally targeted television ads.
- Microsoft - bought a company that places ads in video games
Any other newish intersting and potentially large or effective markets that are worth taking a look at?

GPS based ads
At the NYC SES earlier this year I spoke with a hardware/software guy who builds GPS phones with the ability to search and get results based on where you are physically standing with your cell phone.
A very handy little combination for Local results....
I've heard that Jellyfish
I've heard that Jellyfish (www.jellyfish.com) is launching with a new advertising model that is supposed to be pretty cool.

Ouch
One area that I have been following is advertising revenue sharing. There are several recent start ups (Prefound.com, Simpy.com and others) that are trying to reward user generated content providers with a share of the advertising revenue produced by the content. I think it will be interesting to see if these models have staying power.
