As noted on Inside AdWords, Google's keyword suggestion tool now shows 12 months of keyword data and is accessible from outside of your AdWords account.
They show global trends and regional trends by keyword match type (ie: broad, phrase, exact).
Well that ought to kill off much of the paid keyword research tool market, eh?

Yes, it's accessible from outside your adwords account, but only until you add keywords to the list. Then, boom, u have to sign up or login to see the information. So I think the paid keyword research tool is still in play.
