Global Online Freedom Act, Part 2

We recently had a discussion about the proposed Global Online Freedom Act. It looks as though more information is coming out.

Digital Ghost reviewed the proposed bill, and does not think much of it.

First, with a title like, "Global Online Freedom Act" I get the sense of someone with delusions of grandeur, unfortunately, that same someone suffers from delusions of competence. That someone is New Jersey Republican Representative, Christopher Smith.

He continues with

Now with all that said, does anyone dare discuss the hypocrisy of a government that granted China most-favored nation trading status, yet produces this piece of legislative garbage? Simply mind boggling.

I don't agree with censorship but if economic isolation programs aren't viable for the government, why are isolation policies viable for search and technology?
