British Video Engine Aims For Glory
Blinx according to The Times is " the British internet search company, [which] today launched an online video service to challenge Yahoo! and Google, the American giants planning to dominate the fast-developing market." It is part owned by ITN, the British news producer. Revenue, would you believe, is to be raised by advertising.
I tried a search for Pirates of the Caribbean to see what it did.
Although you can get inside pages on Blinx.com , their front page redirects to this .tv version.

Niche, niche, niche
The three most important factors in taking on Google.
I fully believe that there's lots of money to be made even if you're directly competing with Google - as long as you identify a niche and work it. It's no different than competing against Walmart or Amazon. Find your niche and specialize in it - do a better job or a lower price.
Even if you don't take the entire market you can still make boatloads of cash.
>>niche, niche, niche agreed
>niche, niche, niche
agreed 100%. i think that's going to be the downfall of a lot of these tech companies that are rolling out now -- they dont have enough of a well-identified niche.
