Google Video - an Untapped Market?

People quickly took advantage of the exposure Google Base offered, with Base even sometimes making its way into regular search results.

Has anybody been hitting up Google Video? Tony says yes, noting a poker affiliate video, but he calls it bleeding edge:

This thing is done really poorly but I think the guy is bleeding edge.

So what is the future of marketing and Google video? Well str0ud has piqued my interest and we are certainly going to move in the direction of producing a series of videos. Afterall, I don't imagine that its that hard to manipulate the 'Popular' section thanks to HTTPClient. :)

I uploaded a video a couple

I uploaded a video a couple hours before Tony pinged me. I will let you know how long it takes to go active (keep in mind I submitted it on a weekend).

A few questions I have for TW members...

  • What video recording software and hardware do you recommend?
  • For screen capture recordings I use Camtasia Studio. Is there anything better on the market?
  • Google allows you to upload transcriptions with your files. Who do you guys recommend for transcription services? Is there any decent software or do you need to buy a service?

Boykin, Beal, Grehan and others have an open door here

Just look at the results for SEO:

Pure crap!

Pure crap!

Pure crap!

Well I think that is probably going to be Google's business model for all vertical search services.

  • Create vertical
  • accept crap
  • send swarms of users at it
  • let marketers realize the untapped value
  • tons more content added (to make the market more in line with it's true value)
  • let the users become the editors, pointing out the best bits and whatnot

I think that is why you see guys like Matt Cutts pushing the quality concept so hard...their business model only works if they can convince others to share quality information.

i'm a huge fan of macromedia captivate.

That was a brilliant observation, Aaron.

I'm liking the idea of Camtasia Studio.
