Google Censors Their Own Censorship Policy

Well, they can't really be all that surprised that people were going to look at Google's censorship policy after the sudden about face.

The thing I don't understand is how Google could have thought that pulling the page was a good idea. Dumb dumb dumb.

Uniquely democratic. Reflection of web. Does not censor. All in the shitcan my friends.

I see a page with the

I see a page with the following text:

Does Google censor search results?

It is Google's policy not to censor search results. However, in response to local laws, regulations, or policies, we may do so. When we remove search results for these reasons, we display a notice on our search results pages. Please note: For some older removals (before March 2005), we may not show a notice at this time.

I've thought about this

I've thought about this whole China issue for quite a while. I'm now 100% confident that I can find no defense for Google's actions at all in this matter. None. Zero.

Although I hate the often abused evil-nonsense-phrase as much as the next guy I should add that censorship, if anything, is 100% evil. As in: Anything even remotely "good" is absent from that concept.

If China insists then stay out of China. My 2 cents.
