Word on the street is that WG has resigned at WMW

Thread Title:
Living legend maybe an exaggeration...but not by much
Thread Description:

Word reaches me, in true TW style from an anonymous source that Greg Boser, President WebGuerrilla, LLC has resigned as both an Admin and Moderator at WMW.

I'm sure I'm not on my own in viewing this as news, let me state a few reasons why.

Greg has always been at the leading edge of the industry. I remember as an extreme newbie [just a newbie now] following the pagejacking stuff which is summed up here http://www.webguerrilla.com/pagejacking/

One of the guys that is and was a huge "draw" on the conference circuit, arguably one of the cornerstones and main drivers of the SES conferences.

A guy that seems to have the intellectual capacity to straddle between the SE's and webmasters, having a foot in both camps without falling over is a rare skill.

I have two complaints re: Mr Boser though:

1. I don't see a "thank you" thread at WMW, he deserves one without doubt.

2. It seems Greg is used sparingly on the European SES circuit, I think thats a shame. I'm torn between trying to organising a boycott of SES London next year and trying to let the powers that be know that if he is speaking it will be the sell out of all sell outs.

If there is no "thank you" thread at WMW looks like we will have to have our own here.

Mr Boser, Thank You!

Definitely news, definitely - Greg was (is) an inspiration

The no BS posting style was one of my highlights back when I read (moderated as well) WMW. Thanks for helping this 'newbie' dude!

Mod

Yep, Greg was a steady hand when i was having some trouble backstage at wmw, thanks m8 :)

and good to see you signed in here at last!

Greg Boser, WebGuerrilla Steps Down as Mod at WebmasterWorld

WebGuerrilla is the name Greg Boser goes under when posting at forums. I have heard rumors dating back on Friday, I believe, that WebGuerrilla has stepped down as a moderator at WebmasterWorld. He used to moderate the Google and Keyword...

Greg Rocks

Glad I got the chance to meet you in Vegas.
Thanks for the no BS attitude

I noticed earlier today that

I noticed earlier today that his name was no longer listed as moderator of the Keyword forum, but just checked and he is still listed as 'Category Administrator' of 'The Marketing World', but maybe it just hasn't been taken down yet.

I only got to briefly say Hi to him at Las Vegas, but have also always appreciated his posts. Good luck with whatever you do next Greg!

Bummer! Hey Greg, what is up

Bummer! Hey Greg, what is up with that? I'll have to see exactly what is going on. I remember meeting with Greg at one of the first PubCon's here in Irvine, California. Great guy and a well known brand in the industry. Years ago, Greg showed me an example of Page Jacking that totally blew my mind. That was when I learned about the cons of using relative URIs. ;)

>has resigned as both an Admi

>has resigned as both an Admin and Moderator at WMW.

I've also heard the same.

Welcome to SlackerWorld, WG.

>Word reaches me

Not from me, btw.

Best to ya WG

Hope to see ya at SES London in June....

Get ready for WG 2.0 -- untethered.

Time to step into the sunshine...

Thanks

I really appreciate the kind words. For the record, the lack of any public thread about my decision to leave is pretty much my fault. In the past, it has always been the departing mods who start those threads. But long, sappy goodbyes really aren't my style. So I decided it would be best to use the same stealth exit that was pioneered by the some of the more infamous ex-admins.

If RC and NFFC weren't worthy of any official goodbye, then I'm certainly not. Those two contributed far more to the success of WmW than I ever could have. And their departure was really the begining of the end for me. The place just never felt the same with out them.

As far as the future goes, I'm not expecting anything drastic, other than picking up an extra client or two to fill the time I used to spend reading and approving posts. There is also a rumor floating around that I'm going to jump on the radio show bandwagon in the near future. But other than that, I'll still be hangin' out in the same circles I've always been in. And I'll continue to show up anywhere someone is willing to throw a kickass party. (And SES in June will most likely be one of those parties, since Dave backed out of our toe-to-toe rematch in Vegas).

Thanks from your biggest groupie ;)

Hey Greg,

We'll miss you over at WmW...and yeah my nic changes all the time, but I'm the one who was so star struck over you and Oilman at SES SJ last year and proceeded to follow you around for many conferences and sit with you at the bar learning black arts from you till all hours...hope to do that again in Chicago (theres a kickass party planned there). You are the Original SEO Rockstar, my friend. Good luck to you in whatever you do...and thanks so much!

>And their departure was real

>And their departure was really the begining of the end for me. The place just never felt the same with out them.

Well, that's pretty much B-S, but welcome to SlackerWorld anyway. Aside from checkers and gin-rummy, we spend our "twilight days" betting on when Danny will have to install new forum rules over at SEW.

Valentines Day

That is my guess as to "when Danny will have to install new forum rules over at SEW." ;)

He has been told...

We've all told him on the board, some of us have told him verbally and word has it that an anonymous figure dressed in black dragged him down an alley on the way back from his local chip shope and shouted repeatedly GET SOME DAMN RULES IN THERE - GET SOME DAMN RULES IN THERE till poor danny got a nose bleed....

We are all professionals...

Right? :)

Ninja!

welcome to TW..

Dont be shy of the "submit thread" link top right now will you? :-)

back in tha day

>resigned as both an Admin and Moderator at WMW.
Yeah, not many left now to call BS anymore. Does anyone even hear it anymore anyway.

Radio show? hahhahah - no comment

BTW, has anyone ever heard a real Rock Star call themself one? ;-)

Welcome to TW Drastic...!

Welcome to TW Drastic...!

>>rock star

I'll stay clear of the connotations in that statement :) but will say it was a damn good show last night...

check your pm box, it's on the left, and nice to see you signed in m8

weren't worthy of any official goodbye

Well I think we got one [sort of] a press release too...just saying.

>Those two contributed far more to the success of WmW than I ever could have.

I've told you, I don't think thats the case at all in the bigger picture.

>Aside from checkers and gin-rummy

And quilting, don't forget that, can help fritter away a few lonely hours :)

MORE WG lies

(And SES in June will most likely be one of those parties, since Dave backed out of our toe-to-toe rematch in Vegas).
