Blog Spamming *for* Competitors
Greg Boser reviews some recent comment spam he received, noting that he likely thinks it was the act of a competitor.
Now, if you visit their SEO and link building pages, you might leave thinking that this company might indeed resort to blog spamming in order to build links. They talk about the “miserable failure” Google bomb and they also spend some time explaining the impact of anchor text. All in all, the tone is fairly aggressive.
However, if you look a little closer you will come to one of two possible conclusions:
1. This comment was a competitor trying to sabotage their rankings
or
2. This is their very first attempt at “push button marketing” and they are completely clueless as to how to do it properly.
Greg also goes on to state why he does not like GoDaddy (killing sites for spamming without evidence) and predicts that competitive sabotage via blogs will be huge in 2006.

I'm actually looking to pull
I'm actually looking to pull my stuff from GoDaddy for exactly this reason.
I sorta feel like a damn
I sorta feel like a damn fool because I have way too many domains at GoDaddy. Which registrars are still fairly reasonable on price but don't screw over site owners if bloggers whine about spam?
On his blog WG recomended
On his blog WG recomended Moniker
I listen to Monty's show on
I listen to Monty's show on WebmasterRadio and talked with him in Vegas, moniker is actually on the top of my list. If you prefund the account the prices seem reasonable.
Moniker all the way
I have been moving my domains from Godaddy to Moniker over the last year. Monty won be over by going out of his way to help me rescue a domain being held hostage in Kuwait. At the time, I didn't have a single domain with them. He was a class act in my book.
Moniker
Monte and the crew at Moniker all the way
if you get a chance
talk to Moniker in person. Website pricing is for anonymous buyers, and Moniker is a people company :-)
That said, I can't see housing all of my anything in one place/with one vendor.
Moniker
Moniker all the way. They're used to dealing with SEO folks. They'll give you competitive pricing, *and* their support is outstanding (i.e., pick up the phone and call them, they'll answer the phone and someone knowledgeable will fix the problem).
Edited to add plug:
register domains at moniker.com
Moniker
Another thumbs up for Moniker here as well.
