Wikipedia Co-founder Larry Sanger to Launch New Wiki
Report that Larry Sanger, who co-founded, then left Wikipedia in 2002, is going to launch a new encyclopedia - Digital Universe aims to garner the best of both worlds: harness wide public input, but with acknowledged experts acting as "stewards". He has raised apparently $10 million to fund paying the "experts".

One does vaguely wonder at the spin recently agin Wikipedia, and why just now. Anyway seems like a good time for Larry Sanger's launch, and it does sound as if it has a sporting chance of sucess, though I doubt may TW readers will be contributing to it.
