I've been talking about this for a while, think about how much surfing habit data google could collect with just the toolbar and adsense, couple that with the analytics they are brewing and it only makes sense that this is going to work (is worked?) its way into the algo as another factor in rank.

I'm still utterly convinced that the additional links shown for some sites are the most frequently clicked links from the homepages of those sites - I have ~10 clients they show for and that works for every one of those, plus if you look at sites where you don't have the stats it looks very likely that they are.

Which means the toolbar or something is tracking those clicks, and I don't have analytics or any publically available stats on those sites....
