Use AJAX to compare Google to Yahoo
There is a new AJAX based search engine which enables you to compare Google and Yahoo results. Releton.com allows you, once you do the search to compare the results.
The first set of results you see gives a 50/50 match of Google and Yahoo. You have a swingometer to change the match. Kind of neat but not sure of the use for the normal punter.

Oh dear, - you'll already know about this. (It being created by seobook, sorry.)
you did well tant!
When in doubt, if I made the site ALWAYS link drop for it (not on it though) and then say oops ;)
As far as the Releton site goes, I think their scoring system is a bit funky...ie: what point is their saying Seo Chat is 100% for ranking #1 on one engine and then saying its 85.71% for ranking #2 on the other. I think the relevancy scores should be multiplied by the percent weight on the engine in which it ranks and then summed together with how it ranks on the other engine such that the max relevancy is 100%.
Also it would be cool to cluster the similar results if possible, and maybe colors could be used to distinguish between google and yahoo at a quick glance (at least the part where it says yahoo rank = & google rank = )
Way to Promote Their Ad Services?
Junk or not, I think it is a great attention getter for their real product which seems to be ads.

Releton metasearch engine is a work in progress: nothing had been advertised yet,- not a single word. What you see is just a fist step. It would see much more from AJAX at our side.
1. We do not comment "junk site" statements. Freedom of self expression.
2. Scoring. All scoring systems in social sciences are funky. In professional slang I would say that “there is no justifiable measurement scale except ordering scale in social sciences. So we believe that one can consider Releton's numbers as ordering marks only. We will round numbers to minimize confusions.
3. Score computation. The algorithm proposed in seobook email would not work in all cases. Additional discussion is too specific for this newsgroup. Please be free to contact me by email to discuss it in details.
3. Clusterization. Every search engine has a unique paradigm behind it. Releton has its own paradigm too. We believe that we provided necessary level of clusterization; please let us know what has to be improved using specific examples. We also believe that additional clusterization provided by some metasearch engines (aka snap or vivisimo) are useless for users and only interesting to professionals. Researches show that it is more comfortable (aka faster) for user to re-enter a new keyword than to browse auto-generated clusters.
4. Color. Why an ordinary user would need to separate Yahoo and Google matches by color? Releton allows user to control his personal “level of trust” to Google and Yahoo. It may (or may not) improve their experience but has nothing to do with matches comparison. People tried to use color to separate data sources many times in the past. For instance, Gemstar used color to separate movies from sport and news events in its TV Guide. Today all color schemes in Gemstar are gone: Gemstar’s researches show that TV guide customers did not value color at all.
New Gemstar products that you see on your screens use single color.
Hope it would help.
