Protecting Domains, Just how far do you go?
Story Text:
So Google own, GoogleMotherFucker.com which may be just a little further than i would have gone. domainSucks.com for sure, and .co.uk, .org, .net etc sure, but just how far do you need to go...?
btw, Gary, who's being a trouble maker by proxy also has a list of google domains here :)

Last time I heard it from a US lawyer over 500 new domains with the google brand in it was registered ever week under various tld's! 500 A WEEK! Most of them outside US jurisdiction. Imagine how many lawyers that will take to get back. On a large scale you can probably streamine it some and get down to a couple of thousand dollars a case - but thats still 200,000 a week - minimum. I know Google could afford it but I don't think they even try to gain them all ...
excellent - but do they have...
googlecunts.com
googleshitheads.com
googlewankers.com
googlegits.com
googlebollocks.com
How far can they go? Check these in a couple of days and I guess we'll know...
and what about the .co.uk etc.?!
We just checked and googlemotherfuckers.com was available - but somebody may have registered it now...
do you think they will be prepared to pay... this is surely going a bit far, I wonder if its as a result of a law suit - that would have to be my guess - can anyone confirm this?
just good planning
it's always best to register any catchy but derogatary domains for your own company yourself - we have a couple of in house only jokes which have been created after competitors or ex clients upset us - and to be honest if we made them public (which we won't) they'd wish they'd invested the $10 themselves.
With a big company like Google it's always going to be too tempting for someone at some point if they're left available.
now the real news will be if Goog are also buying up the Yahoo versions ;)
