Chitika says eMiniMalls up to 4x more $$$'s than Adsense
Story Text:
Chitika, who launched their eMiniMalls contextual product back in June say that the "intelligent and interactive product merchandising service" can outstrip Adsense by up to 4 times.
I spoke to Chitika CEO Venkat Kolluri earlier and he said "eMiniMalls is AdSense compatible when used in non-contextual mode. That said, on products/gadgets
sites or blogs, when properly integrated into the content, our eMiniMalls revenue is turning out to be 1X - 4X the revenue from traditional contextual ads such as AdSense." and also pointed me to the fact that they've been nominated for an MITX Award.
I know a friend of mine is testing them right now, and so far is quite impressed, has anyone else had a go with eMiniMalls?

Testimonial
Which of the Chitikia products are you guys using here on threadwatch? I see a testimonial from Nick on their site.

I am interested in knowing more about their offerings.
I checked them out a couple
I checked them out a couple months ago, looked to be a beta offering at best. (I wasn't impressed.)
They seem to have made some improvements, I may give them another shot.
FYI
Drastic actually did a review of eminimalls a little while back...
Pretty cool
I've been testing them out. Price per click is high, CTR is so so.
There are also a few hacks around. Killing the search tab, and using an array to rotate targetted products with contextual targetting off, and specifying a specific product for each page/post. For finding products, go to shopping.com or the like and search.
Darren at ProBlogger does
Darren at ProBlogger does quite well with them, reported earning $700 a day.
He also did a review on it.
I have been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on it, ranging from both Darren's and Drastic's opinions. I think it must work better on certain kinds of sites and/or audiences. I suspect it also works well on product review types of pages.
I am testing it on some sites as well, to get my own opinion of it.
seperate issue but...
Google needs to drop the clause preventing other contextual advertisements on a page. Thats just lame.
They have the vast market
They have the vast market share, so why would they change that ;)
FWIW, YPN has the same clause too.
I run eMiniMalls on my blog
I run eMiniMalls on my blog but it gets no traffic so I can't make any comparisons.
Yes Jen
Your right but a I can still complain.
:-(
[edit]
So far
I've not noticed anything; I've got them running non-contextual with Adsense, that being said my blog site is relatively new and I'm not expecting anything big out of it for quite a while.
eMiniMall Plugin for WordPress
If you're interested, I developed a plugin that lets you put an eMiniMall right into your post, using WordPress's Quicktags Toolbar. I've seen direct integration into the post improves CTR. Visit this link for more information on the eMiniMall Plugin for WordPress.
Great
they work great, but in my experience mostly in product related blogs, for example I trialled them on the Blog Herald with no luck but I've got them running on some of my Gadget related sites and they are constantly outperforming Adsense, I've found that the CTR is actually lower though but the return is significantly higher.

You are a star!
I had to mess around with php includes last night to get it to work the way I wanted...
Thanks very much. :)
