The BBC are...um reporting (?)... that shoppers are more and more refering to blogs as guides as to what they should and shouldn't buy. What's concerning (if accurate) is the stats:
Almost half, 49%, thought blogs were as credible as articles in magazines, 46% thought web journals were as trustworthy as newspapers and 40% thought web logs and TV news programmes were just as reliable as each other.
That said, I doubt the survey went into detail about which blogs users found to be useful, informative, etc. Most likely those surveyed had read a couple of product reviews on Engadget or something and decided all blogs were the same.
Must be a slow news day at the Beeb.

Yeah....
slow news day...
...oh, wait a sec, Pivotal moment in British and Irish history
hehe
Given that most product placement ....
..in newspapers and magazines is paid for I'm not overly surprised.
Yeah but if you turn it
Yeah but if you turn it around it doesn't sound so great:
More than half, 51%, thought blogs were NOT as credible as articles in magazines, 54% thought web journals were NOT as trustworthy as newspapers and 60% thought web logs and TV news programmes were NOT as reliable as each other.
Seems
Seems to me, though, that it's something that blogs are up there along with established media.
