A new Google search dedicated to Hurricane Katrina has been announced at the Google Blog: Google Hurricane Katrina
The search has two primary functions. One is a general search which is restricted to an index dedicated to Hurricane Katrina web pages. The secondary functionality is a People Search which queries across multiple people search databases at a time. A meta search for people searching for information on people impacted by Hurricane Katrina

Lycos had this search earlyish last week with Yahoo (I think) right behind. Even Ask managed to squeek in their version before the weekend. Better late than never I suppose.
