New Affiliate Forum could Shake Things Up

A couple weeks ago news leaked that a fairly big player in our space was planning to launch a new affiliate forum that would give the industry yet another place to discuss affiliate marketing issues. I knew who is was a couple days ago, but was sworn to secrecy. The forum officially launched today so now I can talk about it.

Shawn from AffiliateManager.net did a forum poll on the 10th that begged the question "Is there a need for a new affiliate forum?" Shawn said: "I've heard from a little birdie that somebody in affiliate marketing (not me!) is considering the launch of a new affiliate marketing message board... But first, they'd like to test the waters and check whether the affiliate marketing community thinks there is a need for a new forum, or if they are satisfied with the current options out there." See the comments and the poll results at the link above. Well now it's a reality and the new forum has launched. Shawn just announced it today at his blog.

The new eComXpo Forum launched today in advance of their 2nd online Expo coming up in October. Based on the notoriety and controversy stirred up by some very vehement affiliates over the 1st Expo, it will be interesting to see how the forum does. I won't go into the history and politics of it all. I just hope the mods over there are equipped with flame proof vests!

In spite of the controvery and politics, I think eComXpo is great for the industry because it allows affiliates from all over the world, who would not normally be able to afford to fly, stay in expensive hotels and pay for a 3 day brick and mortal convention to be able to network with hundreds of like minded folks and learn interactively at numerous power packed seminars, for as little as $49.95.
