Good news for those of you who support search engine alternatives to Google and Bing - DuckDuckGo is celebrating another milestone. According to an article in SearchEngineLand, DuckDuckGo has surpassed 10 billion searches.
A press release from DuckDuckGo claims that "People are actively seeking out ways to reduce their digital footprint online." I suppose they're trying to say that these pro-privacy feelings are driving their growth, since DuckDuckGo champions privacy of data as their main selling point.
If you're wondering, Google says that it handles about 2 trillion searches per year. So DuckDuckGo has a long way to go. But good on 'em! I like the plucky little duck, personally.
