Google Targeting MSN Employees with Adwords?

Source Title:
Google trying to recruit Susan Dumais?
Story Text:
It certainly looks like it. Scoble asks if Google are trying to recruit one of MS's star researchers, Susan Dumais. If you do a search for her name at Google, you'll see a very specific Google jobs ad on the right. Apparently, this does not appear for any other MS employees.

silly question....

but who cares. Although it is slightly amusing that Google would f*ck with peoples minds like this.

Seems to be correct assumption

I am not getting any Google job ads on the right, but do get one at the top.

I tried the seach for others in her particular research group, including those that had co-written papers, and hers is indeed the only one with the ad.

And they say serps are never hand tweaked!

Conspiracy theorists

suck. Did anyone think that maybe, just maybe, and I know it's a longshot, that Google knows that people that are interested in Susan Dumais, might, just might, be interested in NLP LSA/LSI? And, hold on, that people interested in Susan's work might be suitable for employment by Google.

FWIW

The gizmo does not apply to anyone else in that research group at MS

Yeah, I know, but Susan's is

Yeah, I know, but Susan's is a well-known name. It's always the one you see in conjunction with LSI/LSA. Maybe Google would know something about the search frequency, but I'm just guessing...

Aaron Wall once had a similar campaign for targeting SEO names for promoting his book, but it did cause some consternation at the SEW forums.

maybe someone is just playing

I know we do it with adwords just to see if we can get a reaction from competitors.

Its fun:)
