Gonna be quiet out there...

Story Text:
...cos im off to Copenhagen for the night and day - got a christening to do this weekend, and several important dates with serious junk food! (you just can't get proper crap in the country..)
So, we've got Ivanas dads house for the night, while he's away, and chinese, dvd, few beers - nice.
Tell us what you're plans are this weekend, or just waffle on about whatever takes your fancy, and have a good weekend everyone!

- Y! MyWeb

Oh, and after spending half

Oh, and after spending half an hour whistling, shouting, pleading and worrying - my little dog, Sam turned up on the passenger seat of a local farmers tractor!

She'd been having a lovely time making friends, and the farmer liked her too - but now the fun has ended!

Sheesh...

Nick...

... I didn't know you did christenings. You do bar mitzvas too?

i think there's a monopoly on that here

- don't know about the bar mitzvahs but i think the priests of the Common Danish Church has a monopoly on christenings around here. There are still people performing so called "pagan rituals" - ie. the stuff the vikings did before Christianity arrived here. I think those ceremonies can be performed by everyone (as long as they know how to) - some of it might involve mead though. AFAIK, that stuff isn't easy to get these days, but we've got plenty of beer in Copenhagen.

Anyway, congrats are in order I assume :-)

Personally I'll be sanding and then painting a door. And doing some web work. Perhaps seeing the Fantastic Four movie - it's gotten lousy reviews, so perhaps not. Oh, and listening to podcasts, and reading TW and a few forums as usual.

No, not Robyns christening,

No, not Robyns christening, we decided not to have one. It doesn't really fit our beleifs, and frankly, we think it's a lot of bother over nothing very much..

Friend of ours' kid :)

have a great weekend Nick :)

have a great weekend Nick :)

Bring your beer

That's incredible expensive in Denmark. Have a nice weekend:)

Good About Sam

Always a relief when they turn up safe. Since Maggie went blind in one eye, she doesn't run as much as she used to, but every now and then she vanishes long enough to make me worry about her. Love the coloring on Sam by the way.

Not much going on this weekend, heat finally broke and we got some much needed rain. Gonna build some more nesting boxes for the chickens then saddle up Blaze and go for a ride after the rain dies down a bit. One of the Jennys gave birth last week, so I now have two baby donkeys running around. Fun to watch them racing each other.

Next project is raising Quail and Pheasant.

Too hot

Its too hot here too do much but lay around. Yesterday it hit 105f (40.5c) and it is expected to get hotter today :-(

So I am up at 5am this morning trying to beat the heat.

Doing the crazy frog

Saturday went out green laning with the Surrey TRF.

What a blast. Came home barely able to walk or talk, covered in crap from head to foot and with the odd bruise to remind me of the three times I was forced to "get off" in hurry.

Sunday out with London Advanced Motorcyclists, trying to ignore the aches and pains from Saturday and stay on the bike (tarmac being somewhat harder than mud). Scored 84% today, despite being told off for cornering like I was on a dirt bike. Be ready for the big test soon.

This evening will be chilling out with a few Pimms and spending some quality time w/ my better half. All in all a perfect weekend. No-one mention mid-life crises please.

Glad to hear you got Sam back alright Nick. One of our kittens went walkabout for 4 days recently, its such a relief when they wander back in again like butter wouldn't melt.

Flying lessons

Had my first real (as in, not the intro) flight lesson this morning. Like lots0, I'll be trying to escape the southwestern heat the rest of the day.

Hey ppg

You having a mid-life crisis?

absolutely not, no, no way,

absolutely not, no, no way, nope, not at all.

Denial? Never heard of it.
