AP have an interesting story with much quoting from some jobbie at the EFF on Google & Privacy Concerns
"This is a lot of personal information in a single basket," said Chris Hoofnagle, senior counsel with the Electronic Privacy Information Center. "Google is becoming one of the largest privacy risks on the Internet."
As Danny Sullivan is fond of pointing out though, it's not just Google, Yahoo! collect at least as much data, and thus, as far as the argument in the story is concerned, pose just as much risk...

As usual, Danny has smart things to say
And I wish people would start directing their concerns more towards the run-away American government rather than corporations. People talk about Google / Yahoo turning over user data... well, duh, who is the entity most likely to DEMAND it? We need tighter privacy laws not so much to limit the aggregation of data by corporations, IMHO, but rather to limit attorneys' and government officials' access to this information.
