I like the graphic
hehe, yeah, that's cool. i
hehe, yeah, that's cool. i didnt see that..
It's kind of fun, but unless im missing some features it's just a gimmick right? I can't find any real use for it...
I can't get it working
it zooms and crashes for me - must be a conflict with something....
GPS in pro version
In what locations Gurtie?, all of them?
all the fuzzy ones :)
its sort of working - I just played for a bit quite successfully in the US - but what seems to happen is with some searches as it zooms it can't magnify the image and then it crashes (taking out FF and a couple of other apps as well as it goes).
I'm not sure if the poor res causes the crash or the crash causes the image problems.
But when it works it is quite fun - although I imagine I'll only use it for checking out friends houses and travel destinations. (Five minutes from the beach huh? we'll see about that......)
Nice one
Very nice piece of map application. It covers US quite nice, but what about Europe. E.g. Prague (Czech rep. capital city) is covered only by half of it.
And can we see Area51 over there? ;o)
what's the point
the satelitte imagery at Google Maps is pretty much the same, aside from the fact you can tilt the angles what is the point?
How about forbidden parts of the world
Did not check it yet, but how is ti with some "strange" parts of the world.
e.g. China, Iraq, Afganistan, US Army bases worldwide, etc?
Does anyone experineced some strange "here are the lions" pieces of maps?
After the play..
..the novelty wears off. The quality of zoom is so bad for most of Europe, that its really not worth looking at again until it improves.
Are they offering better quality on the paid options?
Predefined points
There is few predefined points of interest out there.
E.g. Niagara Falls, Area 51, Three Sisters...
Nice one Google.
A lot of fun with zooming and travelling
Keyhole vs Google Earth
What is the difference?
The only difference that immediately stood out was the 3D option for a select group of US cities.
>> I'll only use it for
> I'll only use it for checking out friends houses and travel destinations
Ahh... i was trying to zoom in on Aarhus, Denmark. I guess they don't have that done right? I just get really blurred, useless stuff.
Guess i should try it in the US/UK..
not much in the UK
my house appears to be buried under some earthworks, in fact normal Google maps is marginally clearer. London's OK.
Since I'm only 50 miles away I assume that they could sort my area out if they tried and it's finances not satellite coverage which's stopping them.
Patchy at best
Technically lovely but the sat coverage is pretty pathetic right now (seems old too of the bits of the world I have found that are covered). I looked at winnipeg (no gimli though) and vancouver (no whistler) and looked ok but Leeds is poo. Nice though
Wonder what their update schedule will be..?
Kinda fun but maybe..
...with all their money, they could just buy a few satellites and give us access to the zoom in/out buttons.
Want to know if you are covered in high res..
this page
http://www.keyhole.com/body.php?c=popup&h=support&t=coverageListVisual
shows who has, and has not, decent resolution. MAinly North America, and (strangely) Italy & Spain (though I have to admit I did not find that degree of resolution for Spain)
Blast
WTF?
I'm always late to the game {sob}
