Google now warns users when a website is not mobile friendly, right in the search results

Here is another reason why websites should start looking into developing mobile friendly websites. Google is now testing an icon in the search results that lets users know when a website is not mobile friendly.

Without the icon, websites would still get the clicks of the users who didn't know if the website would work on their mobile device. If the website was lucky, the user would muddle through by zooming in an out of content and accidentally hitting buttons, and maybe accomplishing the task they set out to do. Now, with this new icon, I suspect there will be a lot less click throughs for non-mobile friendly websites. This is better for user experience, but not so great for the websites that are losing clicks and customers.
