Why?
What do they need Public Relations people for if they are unwilling to share information publicly. I suppose it's just like an overpaid secretary - answer phones, tell callers you have no comment, hang up.

Every large public company should have PR specialists for each region that they do business in. Recently Google has had to deal with some high profile court cases in France and don't forget about the French outcry over the Google Library.
Also the new European head of PR might even take Nick out for a few free lunches and try to get some positive press on Threadwatch :).
