Casey Markee reports an interesting new Google Webmaster Tools penalty message that classifies a website as a pure spam. There is a confirmation of it in the help forums as well.

"Google has detected that some of your pages may be using techniques that are outside our Webmaster Guidelines.

Here are Google examples of spam (courtesy of bill_slawski; Barry used to have a tool for that). Here's the definition from there:

Pure spam: They appear to use aggressive spam techniques such as automatically generated gibberish, cloaking and scraping content from other websites

From the "manual penalty" graph it looks like Google is getting much more aggressive with removing "pure" spam sites:
