Google recycles A9 trash .. gets "icky"

Nothing new about google recycling an old concept and launching it as "new" but launching a product that didn't even pass the "creepy test" with AMAZON?

It sounds like they dispatched cars, drivers and GPS enabled cell phones to gather this data and while I'm sure its not as creepy as it looks, I'm not sure how they'll overcome the "icky" factor.

Google certainly isn't the first company to venture down this photographic avenue. Amazon.com Inc. launched a similar mapping feature in January 2005 on a search engine called A9.com. That search engine's former chief executive, Udi Manber, now works for Google.

Yes. Sorry to say, but what may have sounded like a fantastic idea in committee meetings just looks like "snooping on citizens".
