MSN ranks Wikipedia over Digg for search term 'digg'

You know, I get frustrated with MSN ... then I realize that it's not me. Search MSN for Digg Who comes up first?

odd

what's just as odd is Nelly Furtado sitting at #10

Long way to go

When it comes to identifying authority sites the MSN algorithm seems to have a long way to go.

The whole thing is odd

There are authority sites non-existent in MSN and then weird stuff like that shows up.. If they buy Yahoo we could expect more of the same.

I don't know what is worse....

The fact that MSN ranks Wikpedia higher than Digg for it's own name... or the fact that Diggers are saying that MSN is right in doing such.

Yahoo and MSN aren't a whole

Yahoo and MSN aren't a whole lot different. They all give FAR too much weight to Wikipedia

We get a

disability service info site based in Glasgow from a search in the UK.

I'm guessing most people will not be looking for that either...

Devoid of relevance

There was a time when MSM was returning quite reasonable results for a couple of local search terms here in Australia but I checked the terms last week and the the first page results had little relevance to the terms at all.

Beause Wikipedia gets more

Beause Wikipedia gets more links than Digg does. Besides which, this is a news site, not Yahoo Answers. You have submitted a search engine results page instead of a news story, ergo you get buried for spam.

Yep, the average level of digger IQ winds me up far more than MSN results Founder ;)

BTW - a recent survey found that 9/10 asshats regularly use the word 'ergo'

I had to reply to the digger:

It's the problem overall with the quality of traffic that shows up from Digg. I picture a bunch of 13 year olds

I picture a bunch of 13 year

Yes I found the 2 times we got dug, traffic but no conversion.

I imagine we would have faired a lot better with a load of Adsense for Jessica Simpson nude pictures.
