Bush uses word 'failure' on main page

Hahahaha, so incredibly stupid :) some more proof that Google didn't pull a hand-job though.

Also suggest that the change is algorthmic relating to words on the target page, rather than anchor text variations.

Bush and his buddies are not known for their intelligence.

But the failure still rests with Google's algorithm.

DigitialGhost: why? this has now turned in to a case full blown SEO :) Sure they could put the words into the h1 and the title, but they do appear on the page...

It's a flawed algorithm. The word appears once on the page. It's still the backlinks and the authority that are responsible for the rank.

Looks like it came from a rotating news item - Bush's comments on the supplemental bill. It popped on April 3rd and has now been pushed off the page in favor of more recent news items. Failure is a word that the White House and Bush seem to use with relative frequency, so I would expect this is something that will keep happening.

I hadn't searched for "failure" before - just "miserable failure". Funny that he's not listed on miserable failure anymore, he's just a regular failure now. His polls must be improving :).
