Companies to update websites and email footers before 2007 in the UK or breach the Companies Act

I just read this news item on the Register. The first I had heard of it and apparently the deadline was the 1st of January -

"Every company should list its company registration number, place of registration, and registered office address on its website as a result of an update to the legislation of 1985"

Hm...what about comments

Hm...what about comments online, when speaking for your business?

I'd also heard about this.

I've tried reading the legislation and it isn't clear exactly what is required or whether it applies to sites which on't publish their company results on their websites.

Might end up

like the accessibility legislation in not being enforced heavily but the lack of communication about it given you can be fined is pretty poor.
