According to an internmarkets report, Drudge Report had 25.1 million page views on November 7th, 2006, and delivered over 100 million ad impressions in one day.

I happened to be one of the viewers

They had a few teasers the morning after the election that had me hitting refresh more than a few times. I'm sure tons of other people were doing the same thing. I remember thinking to myself "This guy is just trying to boost his ad impressions on a high traffic day" Then I saw the 100 million ad impressions blurb.

I can't say I'm the least bit jaded by being duped into hitting the refresh button only to see fresh ads. I think it was a pretty solid technique. vbSEO did a teaser promo a couple of months back that had the same effect - a lot of people hitting the refresh button pretty regularly in order to get the latest and greatest.

This technique if overused can get old all over the net in a hurry, but if used in good situations it can be a great way for people to get a good boost in revenue.

And let's not forget that

And let's not forget that DrudgeReport will refresh itself if you have it open in a window long enough.

I'm pretty sure that's not the record.

That polish chick who got a billion subdomains indexed back in april surely had more pageviews than that per day.
